Camping grounds in New Zealand can vary widely in the quality of sites offered and the environment you are camping in, but TOP 10 Holiday Parks offer a choice of the traditional powered or non-powered tent sites, often with lake or sea views, or a background of native bush.
Powered caravan or motorhome sites are more and more popular as visitors choose to travel to several camping ground locations in a region by campervan and make the most of the cheaper accommodation option provided by a powered site.
Guests staying in powered or non-powered sites have access to high quality shared facilities, including the communal kitchen, shower and toilet blocks and recreational facilities of each camping ground. Should the weather change for the worse when you are tenting, there are usually a range of other accommodation options available to keep you warm and dry.
Powered Caravan Sites
These are usually sites on grass, although some Parks have paved areas. Powered Sites have power points and usually a water supply for suitably wired vehicles. Booking a powered site is perfect if you are travelling with a:
- Caravan, or
- Tent with electrical appliances
Guests have access to shared bathroom facilities (showers and toilets) and the communal Park kitchen if required. Most TOP 10 Holiday Parks provide access to power, water and onsite waste disposal on powered accommodation sites.
Non-powered Camp Sites
Non-powered sites are traditional grass camping sites without power for tents or vans. Enjoy the classic "back to nature" New Zealand camping experience – just bring your tent. The cost includes access to toilet/shower facilities and the communal Park kitchen.
