Colin & Christine Brock and the friendly staff welcome you to Port Waikato TOP 10 Holiday Park. This fantastic location is only 1hour south west of Auckland on the West Coast. 10 minute walk to the beautiful Sunset Beach (Patrolled Surf Beach) and 2 minute walk to the river estuary. The mighty Waikato River (NZs longest) starts at Lake Taupo and find its way to the sea at Port Waikato. Located on three hectares of flat, sheltered beautifully maintained grounds, the Park is a peaceful haven from everyday life. This place has it all - You'll love it.

Attractions
A 40 minute tour and commentary along Sunset Beach and the mighty Waikato River. Great Photo opportunities and history of the way Port Waikato was. Get up close to birdlife. Take in the 2.5 kms of surf beach to the Waikato River entrance and sand dunes back along the river to Maraetai Bay by 4 wheel drive vehicle. Ideal for all ages.

Our local store is open 7am to 7pm and sells groceries, vegetables, pies and coffee. Fuel is Petrol only so top up your diesel before you venture to Port Waikato.
The safe place to swim is down the south end of Sunset Beach, where the Surf Life Saving Club patrols the beach. The club has guards on duty each weekend from Labour Weekend through to Easter, and right throughout the week during school summer holidays. Please take care when playing in the water, and please swim between the flags, if in doubt do not hesitate to ask a club member for guideance. Sunset Beach, Port Waikato on a summers day theres no nicer place to be. At low tide the rock pools are an ideal area for the little ones.
Maraetai Bay is an ideal paddling area for your littlies, it's a great place to chase crabs dig for pipis, net flounder and enjoy the sand dunes. All essential parts of a true kiwiana beach holiday.
There are three public playgrounds in Port Waikato. 1 at Colbourne Gardens, 1 at Maraetai Bay and 1 in Cordeline Road this one has a tennis court and flying fox. All Free for your enjoyment.

Getting There
From the Southern motorway at Manukau City travel about 30 km to Exit 478 Pokeno, head into Pokeno and grab fuel, ice cream and Pokeno Bacon. At the northern end of Pokeno turn left into Pokeno Road, after 8km at the T junction turn left into River Road, after 3 km turn right onto Tuakau Bridge-Port Waikato Road, after 24 km turn right onto Maunsell Road, on the left at 115B you will find Port Waikato TOP 10 Holiday Park.
