Fishing the Eastern Bay Region
The Bay of Plenty enjoys some of the best fishing in New Zealand. With the worlds largest Kingfish, and Yellow fin Tuna being caught in our local waters. The other species readily available are Snapper, Terakihi, Kahawai, Groper, Blue Nose and Gurnard to name but a few. We also have access to some of the best trout fishing within an hour’s drive of the park gate. This includes pristine rivers, stream fishing and also lakes close by.
