Yellow-Eyed Penguin Colony

The Yellow-Eyed penguin is one of the worlds rarest penguin. Can be viewed in its natural habitat every evening at Busy Beach. Just a short 10minute drive from the TOP 10 Holiday park.

The Oamaru harbour is now famous for its Blue Penguin colony, the smallest of the worlds penguins species. They can be viewed every evening at dusk, coming ashore to their nest sites. A two minute drive from the TOP 10 Holiday Park

Totara Estate is the birth place of New Zealands frozen meat industry. Today the buildings contain interavtive displays, a theatrette and a unique memorabilia collection that discribes the estate and the industry.

We are located at the end of Chelmer Street adjacent to the Oamaru Botanic Gardens.

Coming from Dunedin (south)

  • Drive down the steep hill - Severn Street
  • Drive across the Railway lines
  • First turn on left - Cross Street
  • First turn on left - Chelmer Street
  • 400m on left, Oamaru TOP 10 Holiday Park

Coming from Christchurch (north)

  • Drive along the Thames Highway to the last set of traffic lights
  • Move into right hand lane and take first street on right - Cross Street (Mitre 10 Hardware on corner)
