TOP 10 Holiday Park scoops prestigious Qualmark Award
Congratulations to Orere Point TOP 10 Holiday Park - this year’s winner of the Qualmark Most Improved Award at the annual Holiday annual conference in Rotorua.
The award recognises significant improvement in assessment scores. Orere Point TOP 10 was up against strong opposition but still managed to achieve a great win. TOP 10 Holiday Parks Operations Manager, Keri Dunlop, said "improvements of this size don't just happen - it takes real focus and dedication to achieve a jump in score like this! It shows the emphasis that TOP 10 Parks, in particular, place on looking after their guests".
The TOP 10 group sees the Qualmark assessment process as a vital, independent quality assessment tool for customers. All TOP 10 Parks must achieve a Qualmark score of 4-Star or better to be part of the group.
Papamoa Beach TOP 10 moves to 5-Star Rating and Enviro Gold
Papamoa Beach TOP 10 Holiday Resort has achieved Qualmark New Zealand’s 5-Star Holiday Park rating, acknowledging it as one of New Zealand’s leading providers of beachfront holiday accommodation.
Owners Bruce and Donna Crosby see the Qualmark rating as confirmation their facilities and services are first class.
“We’ve always worked to achieve the highest standards and make sure our guests have the best holiday experience possible,” Bruce says.
“After sitting at the top end of a 4-Star Plus holiday park rating for the past two years, it's rewarding to have achieved the 5-Star rating.”
New Zealand tourism's official star rating system Qualmark, is a solid indicator of quality assurance. Qualmark New Zealand is a Government and private sector partnership between Tourism New Zealand and New Zealand Automobile Association.
As part of the rating process, the resort was also assessed for its impact on the environment. Papamoa Beach TOP 10 received a gold in this category in recognition of its initiatives in energy, waste, water, conservation and community – exhibiting all hallmarks of a responsible tourism business. Papamoa Beach now joins Kennedy Park TOP 10 (Napier) and Waihi Beach TOP 10 as one of very few businesses in New Zealand who are allowed to display the prestigious Gold Enviro logo on its website, brochures and other promotional material.
Papamoa Beach TOP 10 administration manager, Rebecca Crosby, says the management team is mindful of the fact that a 5 Star rating comes with high visitor expectation.
Papamoa Beach TOP 10 has been owned and operated by Bruce and Donna Crosby for more than 20 years. In that time, they have developed a loyal clientèle with many families returning to the resort for holidays year after year.
Located close to Papamoa Shopping Plaza and Fashion Island, the resort's facilities include covered barbecue area and private spa pool, petanque and mini tennis court, wireless Internet and car wash as well as immaculately presented amenity blocks.

TOP 10's general manager, John McCann says the package will include activities that showcase each region. "The winner of the auction will be able to whale watch in Kaikoura, walk the glacier in Franz Josef, jet boat the Shotover in Queenstown and visit Christchurch's Antarctic Centre and Gondola."
"We want to make sure these very generous people experience the very best accommodation and tourist attractions that New Zealand has to offer."
The winning bid on the night was for AU$16,000, from Alice Springs BIG4 Holiday Park owner, Brendon Heenan, who will be making the trip with his wife.
Australia's BIG4 holiday park group is a key partner of the Clown Doctor charity, which uses humour to relieve stress and fear, and help the recovery of child and adult patients in hospitals all over Australia.
The Clown Doctor programme is run by the Humour Foundation, which was created in 1996 and inspired by Patch Adams. The organisation aims to establish Clown Doctors at all children's hospitals in Australia and increase the days Clown Doctors were in each hospital to three days a week.
TOP 10 is affiliated with the BIG4 Holiday Parks of Australia network.
